YOUR NEW ROLE
In your new role as the Head of Regulatory Practice and Standards you
will be responsible for managing the statutory regulatory functions as
defined by the Mental Health Acts under the direction of the Director
of Regulation. The regulation of Mental Health Services involves
registering, monitoring and inspecting mental health services and
taking appropriate enforcement activity as necessary.

You will work in the Standards Quality and Assurance Team and will
work in the Regulatory Team. The regulation of Mental Health Services
involves registering, monitoring and inspecting mental health services
and taking appropriate enforcement activity as necessary.

The Head of Regulatory Practice and Standards will:

* Actively manage the business functions of regulation and monitor
compliance with legislation, regulations, rules and codes of practice
* Manage and support the regulatory team as deemed necessary to
ensure delivery of the regulatory framework
* Take responsibility and provide support for the development and
discharge the business objectives of the Regulatory Team
* Ensure that all staff within the Regulatory Team take
responsibility in fulfilling their duties in line with policies and
procedures

The Head of Regulatory Practice and Standards should have an
understanding of regulatory models, mental health services and
previous work experience which demonstrates the required skills for
the role.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED
To be successful as The Head of Regulatory Practice and Standards in
your new role you will have:

* Relevant degree qualification or equivalent in public
administration, social policy, mental health, health and social care
or a legal discipline or
* professional qualification in specified health or social care
professional discipline.
* A minimum of 5 years? experience in a similar role.
* Experience in a Management role.
